First off, this isn’t a Hunger Games movie. I know, I know, it’s America’s new sweetheart, Jennifer Lawrence, in the lead, but this is a film…not for everybody. That’s exactly what you should expect from a director like Darren Aronofsky. His new film features Lawrence as a submissive wife to writer’s-blocked poet Javier Bardem. They live in a big house Continue Reading

‘I Do…Until I Don’t’ Review

Modernism in the face of post-modernism. Yes, it’s a heady (and obnoxious) way to start off a review of a romantic comedy, but Lake Bell’s I Do…Until I Don’t is not your traditional romantic comedy. Thankfully, this possibility is not the case. The movie is brief yet poignant, and Continue Reading

Friday The 13th: Camp Crystal Lake Counselor Speaks Out! | One of Us

One of Us

While sifting through both of our pieces of fan mail recently, we came across a letter clearly delivered to us by mistake. This made sense of course, as it was incredibly hard to believe that two whole people would send us fan mail. The mysterious letter was addressed to the administrators of Camp Crystal Lake and was dated August 13th, 1982. What we found was a formal complaint from a very unhappy female camp counselor. Here's what she had to say... Crystal Lake Enterprises CO: Summer Leisure & Hemorrhoid Ointment Division To Whom It May Concern: My name is Betty, and I am a counselor at your supposed summer camp. I am writing you today to protest your inflammatory hiring methods. Salinger in this biopic that features Kevin Spacey as his mentor, Zoey Deutch as his young love, Sarah Paulson as his loyal agent, Victor Garber as his dismissive father, and Dr Venture as…I don’t know, he’s in there somewhere. Ok, so full admission: I (Chris) didn’t see this one but I DID send George, Continue Reading

The Original Gentlemen: Season 4 – Episode 1: Spider-Man

by @ One of Us

THEOG returns but…different this time around.
